As someone who has undergone a MiXto Laser procedure in Houston, I can share my personal experience with the healing time. The MiXto Laser is a fractional CO2 laser treatment that is commonly used to address a variety of skin concerns, such as fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, acne scars, and uneven skin texture.
The healing time for the MiXto Laser can vary depending on the individual and the specific treatment areas, but in my experience, it typically takes around 7-10 days for the skin to fully heal. During the first few days after the treatment, you can expect some redness, swelling, and mild discomfort, which is a normal part of the healing process.
Immediately after the procedure, your skin may appear red and feel slightly sunburned. This is because the laser targets the deeper layers of the skin, causing controlled damage to stimulate the body's natural healing response. Over the next 24-48 hours, the redness and swelling usually peak, and your skin may start to feel tight and dry.
During this initial healing phase, it's important to follow the aftercare instructions provided by your healthcare provider. This typically includes using a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer, avoiding direct sun exposure, and refraining from wearing makeup until the skin has fully healed. Your provider may also recommend using a hydrating serum or applying a cold compress to help reduce inflammation.
By the third or fourth day, the redness and swelling should start to subside, and you may notice some peeling or flaking of the skin. This is a normal part of the healing process, as the damaged skin is being shed to reveal the healthier, rejuvenated skin underneath.
Around day 5-7, the majority of the visible peeling and flaking should be complete, and your skin may appear slightly pink or mottled.
